Spots, often called pimples or zits are very common, and people of all ages can suffer from them. Spots come in a number of different types and sizes; some are much easier to get rid of than others.
There are so many different methods that supposedly get rid of spots - it is very important to keep in mind that all spots are different and not all methods will work for you.
At ProSkin Clinics we are experts in advanced skincare and we know a great deal about skin; if you are suffering with spots that are becoming hard to reduce or get rid of, why not book a no obligation skin consultation with us?
We can then advise you on your condition and possible treatments to either reduce or completely get rid of your spots.
A natural face mask
There are a number of natural face masks that can be made out of ingredients that you have in your fridge, such as strawberry and honey.
Strawberries contain salicylic acid - an ingredient commonly used in spot treatment. Salicylic acid works to stimulate the epidermis (the top layer of skin) to shed its cells and open up clogged pores, and neutralises the bacteria encouraging spots to heal.
Honey is used to lock in moisture to the skin, as the salicylic acid has a drying nature; honey also has antibacterial properties which work to reduce infection. The two ingredients work together to reduce spots and moisturise the skin.
Using this mask can help to reduce the appearance of spots after prolonged use, however there is no evidence that it can completely remove spots.
Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil contains many natural properties that can work to reduce the appearance of spots and acne. It has antiseptic and antifungal properties to help prevent spots and kill bacteria.
Tea tree oil has properties that can reduce redness and the appearance of spots; however it can take a long time to work. Tea tree oil will have to be applied daily in order to obtain results.
Remove makeup properly
It is a common misconception that wearing makeup causes spots - this is not always true. There are a great deal of makeup products that do not affect the skin; it is just a case of finding the right product for your skin type.
It is however, very important that you remove your makeup each evening - makeup can block pores and lead to spots. Having a good skincare routine is very important in order to remove dirt and makeup each day.
