Pigmentation is the coloration of the skin, melanin is the pigment in our body which determines the colour of our skin, hair, and eyes. The more melanin in your skin cells the darker your skin will be.
What causes pigmentation?
Extra melanin is produced when skin cells become damaged or unhealthy to protect the skin. The skin cells that produce pigments can be damaged and this prevents melanin production. Skin can turn lighter or darker as a result of this. Hypopigmentation is when your skin turns lighter, and hyperpigmentation is when your skin turns darker, both of which are recognizable skin conditions. At ProSkin Clinics we are able to treat Hypopigmentation effectively.

Facials, Peels and Resurfacers
At ProSkin Clinics we offer a range of facials and peels that can restore a more youthful appearance to skin and help with uneven pigmentation.
Our skin peels can help with uneven pigmentation, with the use of a specialist chemical solution. The chemical solution works to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. Removing these damaged layers allows new skin cells to grow. This reduces pigmentation.
You will achieve softer and smoother skin after the first treatment and continue to see improved results as you complete your course of peels.
We have a range of facials that fall under three categories; anti-ageing, acne and sensitive skin. These facials can then be tailored to the individual needs of our clients; each course of treatment is designed to your specific condition.

Skin lightening, also referred to as skin bleaching or skin whitening is a treatment that ProSkin Clinics are often asked about. Skin lightening is the process of using chemicals to lighten the skin by reducing the melanin concentration in the skin.
After much research we chose not to offer this treatment at ProSkin Clinics due to questionable safety profiles of the treatment.
