For the treatment of thread vein removal at ProSkin Clinics we use the state of the art CynoSure Elite™ and the Elite +™ lasers. The lasers works by targeting the unwanted vessels at the surface of the skin with short pulses of laser light energy, without causing harm to the surrounding tissue.
The laser causes the blood vessel walls to collapse in a process called photothermolysis. The body’s natural waste process then carries away all the broken down blood vessels. Resulting in the skin looking clearer and less red.
Like most laser treatments clients will feel a slight discomfort. The treatment is actually very quick and there is no need for anesthesia. The sensation can vary from each client but most people describe it as a very quick, hot pin prick.
With thread vein removal we recommend that you have three to four treatments for maximum results. However this does depend on your condition and treatment times can differ.
At ProSkin Clinics we can treat skin types 1-3, so the treatment does not work on Asian or darker skin.
Treatments are relatively quick and can take just 10 minutes for a single lesion or up to 45 minutes for a full face.
Some thread veins disappear immediately after treatment but may re-occur a few days later, these will be less visible. After a course of treatment these vessels will disappear and are not likely to reoccur.
Once you have a tendency to facial redness the condition will be an underlying condition, so new veins may appear at some point in the future. If this is the case further treatment may be required, maintenance sessions may not be needed for several years though as the results are long- lasting.
